DIAL is a modified user TELNET program which uses a teletype
connection instead of an IMP. The purpose is to allow calling up
other computers through their dataphones. This is accomplished by
initing a dataset here and dialing it. Either manually, or by using
the automatic phone dialer on TTY11.

The following is the syntax for the monitor DIAL command:

DIAL <sixbit TTY name> <cr>

	or

DIAL {"("<3 digit area code>")"}<3 digit prefix> {"-"} <4 digit number> <cr>

If there is an error in your arguments, DIAL will type "Error
in TTY name or phone number" and prompt you for the name or number
again. If you give a TTY name, the TTY is just inited. You must go
dial the dataphone yourself. Be sure you have successfully inited the
TTY associated with the dataphone before you dial it. If you give a
phone number, TTY11 is inited and the number dialed on the automatic
phone dialer. For any further information on operation consult
NET.JAM[UP,DOC] or R. Helliwell.

Examples of DIAL command:

DIAL TTY10	Inits TTY10, you must dial.

DIAL 493-5505	Inits TTY11 and dials the number
			shown which is TTY10.
